Wherever you go, leave love behind
Happy 2023.
As you look ahead to plans for a new year, remember that every single thing you do in the future will become your past. January is named for the Roman god Janus, who was represented with two faces -- so he looked backward and forward at once. With that in mind, from a February 2015 post and still as fresh as the day I originally typed it out:
So, I tell you this, as I have before. Never think that your words don't matter -- they do. Think before you speak because, whether spoken in retaliation, support, anger, encouragement, sarcasm, or love, your words land somewhere. They are always heard. Your words count. They stick and they are remembered. Even when you aren't trying to make an impression, you are . . . As much as you can, wherever you go, leave love behind.
May your year ahead be one of active, creative engagement with every day that you live in it. May you continually create loving memories for yourself, your loved ones and every acquaintance and stranger you encounter.
Peace and love to you in the week ahead.
