what are your FAQs?

If your life were a website, what would it say? Most websites have headers like About Us. Mission. News. FAQs. Contact Us.
I was musing about my own answer to this query and got stuck on my life FAQs. Like, Why am I still writing this Monday morning letter? Do I have a plan? What is my long-term goal? What if I stopped doing this – would it make me happy? Sad? Would I care?
Some time back, I pondered ending the practice of writing this weekly letter. Yet, here I am again on another Sunday afternoon, putting thoughts to paper. Why? It is definitely a frequently asked question in my busy brain.
It could be that listening to the radio this weekend got me stuck on FAQs. I heard a fascinating story about milk.com (which is probably not what you think but their FAQs tickled my fancy). Then that led me to the whole notion of the Internet and FAQs and how they weren’t even a thing until the 1990s. Now that it’s such a well-worn term, I’m wondering why we don’t all have our own personal FAQs. We could carry them around with us like a passport or a driver’s license and just present them to strangers by way of introduction. What’s your sign? What do you do for work? Can I collaborate with you? Why do you write your Monday letter? Why, here you go – just read my FAQs.
Which brings me back to one of mine: Why am I doing this anyway? Honestly, I really don’t have a grand answer. When I began 13 years ago, I called it a museletter. I thought I was clever with my little portmanteau but I dropped it when blog became the term, although I never liked the sound of that word – blog. Blog. Blahhgh. Meh.
Anyway, I do muse. Constantly. So, I continue to write it down. And I continue to post it publicly. So, moo (which will make sense if you clicked on the first two links).
Have a wonderful week and, if you’re looking for a way to amuse yourself (or get really deep), why not take a crack at writing down your own FAQs?
