thoughts floating by like summer clouds

By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be sitting on a two-mile long, sandy beach in beautiful Cape Ann, Massachusetts, warming in the sun, relaxing with a good book and, every once in a while, looking up at a perfectly blue, sunny summer sky with some white puffy clouds blowing gently by. With that in mind, I offer you a selection of thoughts to contemplate as gently as if they were fair weather clouds floating above your perfect afternoon when you are carefree and have all the time in the world to simply relax.

  • Mercy doesn’t promise results….because mercy wasn’t a deal he made with them. It showed the kind of person he wanted to be. From a retelling of a parable of St. Spyridon by Rev. Cameron Trimble

  • Through companionship with the ground a grapevine grows. It opens into the earth's darkness and flies. it becomes selfless in the presence of its origin and learns what it really is. Rumi, The Visions of Daquqi

  • And life itself told me this secret: "Behold," it said, "I am that which must overcome itself again and again." F. Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra

  • How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. Annie Dillard, The Writing Life

  • The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. Joseph Campbell

  • The total number of minds in the universe is one. Edwin Schrödinger

  • You see, Wendy, when the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

  • Wherever you go, leave love behind. Me

Have a wonderful week, my friend.
