How lucky am I?

The internet is great. You can find so much information so fast. It's all there on your computer or your phone. That's the good news. The bad news? Unlike your local library, it's all up to you to sort out fact from fiction.

So, I found this wonderful quote to share: How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard? It's attributed to A.A.Milne the author of the wonderful When We Were Very Young and Now We Are Six. And, yes, of course, Winnie-the-Pooh and more. I knew his poetry better than his prose.

So, when I came across this quote, I thought it was perfect for the notion I was looking for a good way to express the bittersweet feeling of losing someone you love, or your best friend moving away, or graduation when you leave all your friends. And I just loved Milne's poetry, not to mention the whole gestalt of Winnie-the-Pooh. In fact, one of my favorite books is The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff.

But I digress.

A.A.Milne apparently is NOT the author of this quote. In fact, after more internet sleuthing, it seems that it's not an accurate quote at all and that it's from a 1975 movie called The Other Side of the Mountain. At least according to the internet. :-)

I'm a strong supporter of accuracy in attribution, so there's that.

But I'm an even stronger supporter of gratitude in every day. Even in losing that which we love, a heart has to be full of love before it can ever be broken. And a heart that has known love will know love again.
